  1. Can you elaborate on the exact logistics of offering the free beats? Do you email them one big .zip file? Just point them to the links on Google Drive?

    • Sure, Jason.

I point them to a Google Drive folder. Make sure this folder is accessible for everyone who views it. Here’s a link to the folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9ZFTjbhcBYKdHYwbmtQTkdCZk0

I used to send out a ZIP folder but with the Google Drive folder I can easily take a beat out or add a new one to it, for example, when a beat gets sold exclusively

  2. Logically i understand that it is better to give away beats that any person can purchase a license after.. but how about the idea to give quality beats which i used before in my own projects as free beats and without opportunity for a potencial customer to lease it after… maybe you tryed such strategy and you have opinion. If you need more details about my idea let me know 😉

    • Sorry, that doesn’t really make sense to me. Or perhaps I’m missing the point… Correct me if I’m wrong.

You want to offer beats that they can’t use in any way? How are you going to convert leads into customers then?

Not only is that sort of like false advertising, but you’re also wasting peoples time (including your own). They might end up writing a song to one of those beats and then come back to license it, only to find out it’s not available for licensing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • Yes Robin. You got it right.. well I’ll explain more in details.

As I understand – if you would start all this business now then you would give away your first 30+ beats which you selling in a beatstore…

For example when a new producer start maybe he don’t have any new beats to give as a lead magnet and uploads first beats to a store weekly. So he/she has to spend time preparing the content of a magnet too. But then I thought if the lead magnet is only for hook and setting up a contact with customers, maybe free & quality beats from past projects could suit well to… Just as introduction, just to record with them a demo and see does the producers style fits artist and etc.

I agree that this is not the best option but i still wanted to discuss it with you and maybe brainstorm about it for the sake of all other users.

A bit risky shortcut I guess, but if producer has all the rights then maybe he can give those beats and also license them if demand appears.

Are we on the same page on this topic? 🙂

    • Ok, yea that could work, definitely. But you don’t necessarily have to give away 30 beats. 5 of them could work too. But you do need to leave room for upselling and trying to convert that lead into a customer. When doing a sales pitch, I’ve noticed that referring back to the 5 beats they initially got can help close deals.
